In summer 2025, the library integrated a new software package called LibKey into many of the library's resources. You may be directed to screens that you have not seen before when searching in library resources. Below are examples of some of the changes you will see using the library's resources. The LibKey integration is only for scholarly journal articles, so it does not affect records for books, ebooks, newspaper articles, videos, etc.
In library databases, the "Get It @ BU" link remains unchanged in appearance and location. This is also true for the "Get It @ Bradley" links in Google Scholar.
In the library's discovery search modes for "Article" and "Almost Everything," the majority of records in the results list of a search will display the LibKey links. You will be able to identify these by the image of the actual journal cover (instead of an icon), and the link option texts are "Download PDF" and "View Issue Contents."
If LibKey links are not on the record, the normal catalog access links will appear.
What happens after you click on a LibKey link?
When you click on one of the LibKey access links, you will see one of two different screens.
The first option requires no action. The screen quickly appears while the software locates the article. Once the article is located, you are automatically directed to the content.
The second option displays multiple access options. You will need to click on the access option you prefer to get to the content.
Select the full-text format option you prefer. Or if you prefer to see all the access options on the record in the library's catalog, click on "See all content access options for this article."
We also recommend adding the browser extension LibKey Nomad for even more features. See the FAQ linked below.
