The library has one individual quiet pod/booth on the main floor near the reference collection and printing station.

Currently, the quiet pod is not reservable and is used on a "first-come, first-served" basis.

This pod is designed for short-period use (for example, a phone call or a focused task). It is not soundproof, but it significantly dampens sound. Think of it as a space for anti-eavesdropping. The booth has a rating of 35 NIC. (A NIC rating of 40 is considered very good for an operable wall.)

If you are talking or listening to audio in the quiet pod, we recommend speaking quietly and using low volume.

Quiet Pod Features:

  • LED perimeter lighting (turn on/off with the knob in the ceiling)
  • Ventilation (motion-activated)
  • Seating
  • Desk surface
  • Power (AC outlets and USB outlets)

More about the quiet pod is on the vendor's website.
