CAS SciFinder is the world's largest and most comprehensive database of chemical information. This database requires individual user registration. So, first-time users will need to register, please use your BU email to register.

Spring 2025 Update: 

In the coming months, users with unverified email addresses will be prompted to verify their email upon logging into the product. This prompt will guide them through the simple verification process, which should only take a few minutes.

Here is a breakdown of the user experience:

  1. In-Product Prompt: After logging in, users will see an on-screen prompt requesting email verification.
  2. Verification Email: Users will receive an email from userprofile@cas.org with the subject line "CAS Profile Verification Code."
  3. Code Entry: Users will need to copy the verification code from the email and paste it into the in-product verification prompt.
