You have a few choices for searching for newspaper articles.

  • The library subscribes to several Newspaper Databases. View this newspaper databases list and select the one with the content you need. See the search tips below to learn where to search for specific newspapers.
  • You can also search the Newspaper Search which will search multiple newspapers simultaneously.
  • Search the library catalog using "Almost Everything" and then use the "Resource Type" filter and select "Newspaper Articles"

If you want to search for a specific newspaper title, search for the title in the library catalog journal search.

Search Tips:

  • Access to the Peoria Journal Star (from June 1999 to September 2018) is in the Newspaper Source database. For additional dates, blogs, and online content, Peoria Public Library card holders have access through PPL's NewsBank.
  • Access to the Wall Street Journal is in ABI/Inform database.
  • Access to the New York Times is in Nexis Uni and by the university's site license.
