Peer reviewed articles are easiest to locate in databases. There are several techniques.

Let's start with Articles Search.

  1. On the library homepage, open the "Articles" tab. This search box covers several databases at once.
  2. Search for one or two terms.
  3. In the results page, locate the filter in the left column for "peer-reviewed." You will see a "peer reviewed" icon of an eyeball floating over an open book.

Another option is to start inside databases (collections of articles, included peer-reviewed).

  1. Start at the library homepage.
  2. Open the tab "Databases."
  3. Select "list of databases A-Z" under the search bar.
  4. You can also use Project Muse, Scopus, or JSTOR (these databases are listed in the A-Z list of databases). All articles that you find in Scopus, Project Muse and JSTOR are peer reviewed articles.
  5. Or locate "Academic Search Complete" (second option from the list).
  6. Once it loads, scroll down the page. There will be two boxes that read "Full Text" and "Peer Reviewed"
  7. Select each of these two boxes (Full-Text and Peer Reviewed).
  8. Now, scroll back up the page and enter in your search terms in the text boxes.
